Disabled friendly

The Grugapark Essen makes every effort to design its attractions in a manner that is as disabled friendly as possible. All the attractions are also accessible for people in wheelchairs. In the Garden of the Senses the Grugapark also provides an attraction which has been especially designed for the needs of visually impaired people and for people with mobility disabilities. All the main paths have been designed to be free of obstacles. There are bypass paths at large stairways for wheelchairs and prams. Disabled toilets are available in the in the Orangerie, in the Restaurant Café Landhaus, at the Traffic Playground and in the Animal Park.

Free wheelchair service
People with mobility disabilities have the possibility to pre-order a wheelchair from the Info-Centre Orangerie on Tel. +49 (0)201 / 88 83 106 which can be borrowed in return for a deposit. As a matter of course this service is free for our visitors.
